Nimble Artificial Intelligence Driven Robotic Solutions for Efficient and Self-Determined Handling and Assembly Operations (MASTERLY)
HORIZON-CL4-2022-TWIN-TRANSITION-01-04: Intelligent work piece handling in a full production line (Made in Europe Partnership) (RIA)
In recent years, the manufacturing industry has experienced a significant transformation, shifting away from traditional mass production toward a more customized approach. This evolution has introduced new challenges for conventional production lines, which have historically been optimized for a single product variant or a specific product family. As the demand for personalized products grows, these traditional systems are increasingly showing their limitations, struggling to adapt to the diverse and dynamic requirements of modern manufacturing.
To address these challenges, the MASTERLY project is pioneering the development of flexible robotic solutions designed to overcome the constraints of conventional production lines. This initiative focuses on the integration of modular grippers with state-of-the-art robotic technologies, including mobile, industrial, and collaborative robots, as well as intelligent cranes. These robotic systems will be further enhanced by advanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, enabling them to operate autonomously and efficiently. The AI-driven control and perception systems will empower these robots to handle a wide array of parts, regardless of their size, shape, or material composition, while also ensuring their usability and safety for workers of all genders.
Through these innovations, the MASTERLY project aims to revolutionize manufacturing processes, making them more adaptable, efficient, and inclusive in response to the evolving demands of the industry.
